Chargers Give Mysterious Monday Update on Injured WR
The Los Angeles Chargers are one of the surprise teams in the NFL. They are 8-4 on the season, winning five of their last six games. In Week 13, the Chargers went on the road to beat the Atlanta Falcons 17-13.
Despite getting the win, the Chargers lost receiver Ladd McConkey to a knee injury late in the fourth quarter. He didn't return to the contest, and head coach Jim Harbaugh didn't give an encouraging update on the rookie receiver.
Chargers News: Jim Harbaugh Gave Bleak Update on Ladd McConkey
When discussing McConkey on Monday, Harbaugh said the rookie is "working through a couple of things" and the team will be evaluating him as the week goes on. Harbaugh said the team will wait and see if McConkey practices this week.
Prior to going down, the Georgia product logged nine receptions (12 targets) for 117 yards. This was his third game in 2024 with 100-plus receiving yards.
If McConkey is going to miss an extended period of time, that will be a massive loss for the Chargers passing attack. The 2024 second-round pick leads the team in catches (58), targets (81), and receiving yards (815).
He's emerged as the go-to option in the aerial attack for Justin Herbert, but the significance of his injury cast some doubt on his future availability.
The Chargers travel to play the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday Night Football in Week 14. This contest will be huge, as Los Angeles is currently the fifth seed in the AFC playoff picture.
