Chargers Playmaker Likely Has Already Played His Final Game for Los Angeles
The Los Angeles Chargers are sitting with a 5-3 record after Week 9. The Chargers have been a pleasant surprise, as many people thought this would be a transition season.
That isn't the case, and the Chargers are looking to make a postseason push in the second half of the season.
While Los Angeles continues to fine-tune their roster, there is a great chance that Jalen Reagor doesn't suit up for this team for the remainder of the season. In Week 9 against the Chargers, Reagor was elevated to the active roster for the third and final time. If the team wants to keep him around, they would have to sign him to the 53-man roster.
With the return of Joshua Palmer and Quentin Johnston back into the fold, the need for Reagor just isn't there. Los Angeles also has Ladd McConkey and Simi Fehoko on the team.
Reagor joined Los Angeles' practice squad back in September but hasn't done much in his opportunities. In 2024, he logged four catches for 76 yards across 54 total snaps.
In the Monday Night Football loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7, Reagor fumbled right near the endzone.
A player who is on the fringes of the roster needs to capitalize on these kinds of opportunities. That isn't what the TCU product did and his time could be running out with the Chargers.
The 25-year-old has played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Minnesota Vikings, and New England Patriots. He failed to make his presence felt in any of these locations and that trend has continued with the Chargers. It's only a matter of time until Los Angeles parts ways.
