The Los Angeles Rams made the surprise decision to part ways with veteran wide receiver Cooper Kupp in the offseason. Despite the talented playmaker's desire to stay in Los Angeles and retire as a Ram, the team actively shopped him before free agency began. The Rams eventually released the former Super Bowl champ when they couldn't find a trade partner.

Kupp then signed a three-year, $45 million deal with the Rams' NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks. In his first press conference with his new team, Kupp still sounded hurt by his former team's decision.

While saying that he is excited about the new chapter in his career and is looking forward to facing the Rams twice a year, Kupp didn't like the lack of clarity from the organization. He added that the whole process has been "very difficult and frustrating" for him.

"Iā€™m sure they have their reasons for why they want to do things, whatever it is. Not a ton of clarity in that regard."

Kupp has previously talked about his desire to finish his career in Los Angeles. During the press conference, the veteran wideout reiterated that he always thought he would retire with the Rams.

That is always difficult to hear from a player. Kupp has been one of the best players in recent Rams history. His 2021 season will remain one of the best offensive seasons from a Rams player ever. His 1,947 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns, combined with an epic Super Bowl run with 478 yards and six touchdowns in four playoff games, will not be repeated by any wide receiver in the league for a long time.

That is why Kupp will forever be remembered fondly by Rams fans. After eight seasons with the organizations, seeing him in a different uniform facing the Rams will be difficult for the fanbase. It sounds like Kupp will have similar feelings in his first game against his former team.
