The Los Angeles Rams had a brutal start to the season after they were slammed with injuries to multiple key starters. They were 1-4 after Week 6 before reeling off three straight wins.

They now sit at 4-4 and have a contest against the Miami Dolphins in a primetime tilt on Monday Night Football. While they are getting ready for this cross-conference collision, a former defender landed with the Arizona Cardinals.

NFL News: Russ Yeast Lands With Arizona Cardinals

On Wednesday morning, the Cardinals' official Twitter page posted that they added safety Russ Yeast to their practice squad. He came into the league as a seventh-round pick by the Rams in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Yeast has started 10 games in his career, logging 81 total tackles, five pass deflections, and one tackle for loss in 35 total games. He started the 2024 season with the Rams before playing two games with the Carolina Panthers.

The Cardinals were looking for more bodies in the secondary and decided to bring in an ex-Rams defender. The NFC West race is extremely close after nine weeks. Every team in the division holds at least four wins, making the margin for error that much smaller.

Arizona and Los Angeles already played once this season and it came in Week 2. The Cardinals won that matchup 41-10, and these two teams will square off again in Week 17.

We'll have to see if Yeast is still on the team when that game rolls around but for right now, it gives them another body in the secondary.
