After making the playoffs in 2024, the Los Angeles Chargers are focused on making improvements this offseason to make a deeper run in the playoffs.

Teams are tasked with making tough decisions every year, and Los Angeles had to make one regarding Joey Bosa. On March 5, the Chargers officially released Bosa in a move that saved them $25.36 million in cap space.

It didn't take long for Bosa to find a new home, as he inked a one-year, $12.6 million deal with the Buffalo Bills. He had his introductory press conference on Thursday, and he expressed why he signed with Buffalo.

Bosa said, "I’m getting old and I’m ready to win.

Joey Bosa Explains Why He Signed With Bills

Bosa has been in the NFL for nine seasons but hasn't made any deep postseason runs with the Chargers. He's only made it to the divisional round once. In total, he's played in four playoff games, going 1-3 in those outings.

He's going to turn 30 years old in July and understands his best days may be behind him. The Ohio State product wants to be on a team that has a chance to secure a Super Bowl, and he thinks Buffalo can give him that opportunity.

In 107 career games (93 starts) with the Chargers, Bosa has racked up 343 total tackles, 156 QB hits, 87 TFLs, and 17 forced fumbles. His 72 career sacks are No. 2 in Chargers history, only trailing Leslie O'Neal (105.5).

While Bosa has struggled to stay healthy over the last couple of seasons, he hopes to be an asset for the Bills.

The fact that he said he wants to win played a big role in his decision. The Miami Dolphins and San Francisco 49ers also had interest in his services but reportedly offered less than $10 million. He got more money with the Bills while heading to the best team of the three.

It was a win-win situation for the five-time Pro Bowler.
