The Los Angeles Rams answered their biggest offseason question last week by agreeing on a contract extension with Matthew Stafford. The next order of business is the Cooper Kupp situation.
Earlier in the week, head coach Sean McVay provided a surprise update on negotiations. He left the door open for Kupp's return, saying he would never speak in absolutes and rule out Kupp staying in Los Angeles.
On Wednesday, Rams GM Les Snead closed that door a little bit without fully shutting it. According to ESPN's Sarah Barshop, Snead called Kupp's return to Los Angeles the "least likely option".
Les Snead said the Rams are looking to find a trade partner for Cooper Kupp and while he didn’t rule out the receiver staying, he said that’s the “least likely” option. Sean McVay said on Monday that the Rams had not had conversations with Kupp about restructuring his deal.

Rams Still Looking for a Cooper Kupp Trade
Snead said that the Rams are still looking to find a new home with Kupp. This could potentially signal that the team is finding it hard to find a suitor for the veteran receiver. This is likely due to his contract situation.
Kupp is due a $12.5 million base salary for 2025 and $14.85 million for the year after. The 31-year-old is an effective playmaker but is not the player he once was. The age and contract-related concerns are likely suppressing the former Pro Bowler's market.
The Rams can still restructure Kupp's deal and bring him back. This is certainly what most Rams fans would prefer after the former third-round pick led the team to a Super Bowl win and had one of the most dominant offensive seasons of all time. Finishing out his career in Los Angeles and chasing another Lombardi Trophy is the dream end to Kupp's career but whether he will be able to achieve that remains to be seen.
