The Los Angeles Rams answered their biggest offseason question last week when they agreed on a restructured deal with Matthew Stafford. They now know who will be under center for them in 2025 but questions remain about the rest of the roster.

Perhaps the biggest remaining question is Cooper Kupp's future with the team. The star receiver revealed earlier in the offseason that the team was actively shopping him around the league despite his desire to stay in Los Angeles. This financially motivated decision took Rams fans by surprise.

While the team is looking for a suitor for Kupp, head coach Sean McVay had a surprise revelation on Monday. Per The Athletic's Jourdon Rodrigue, the team wasn't ruling out Kupp's return if the Rams can't find a partner.

Rams News: Sean McVay Not Ruling Out Cooper Kupp Return

McVay said that he doesn't like to speak in absolutes and that Kupp could potentially play for the Rams again.

This is a surprising development. The team has previously not given any indication that Kupp could return. If finding a trade proved to be too challenging because of Kupp's contract situation, many had assumed that he would be cut.

For now, that doesn't seem to be in the cards for the Rams. Kupp turns 32 before the start of next season and has two years remaining on his deal. He has a $12.5 million base salary for 2025 and $14.85 million for the year after. This obviously suppresses his trade market, as it is hard to imagine the Rams getting anything more than a late-round pick for the veteran receiver.

Whether this means that the Rams wouldn't release Kupp if they can't find a trade remains to be seen, but McVay not ruling out a return could be a sign that the former Pro Bowler's market is tepid.
