The devastating wildfires that wreaked havoc in Los Angeles all of last week took a toll on all aspects of life. The members of the Lakers organization and the fans were naturally among the community suffering from the disaster. As part of its response to the situation, the NBA had postponed two Lakers games.

The Hornets game on Thursday and the Spurs matchup on Saturday were postponed before the Lakers returned to action on Monday night at Crypto.com Arena. They continue their regular-season schedule by hosting the Miami Heat on Wednesday night. As expected, the league announced changes to the rest of the schedule on Wednesday, per NBA insider Chris Haynes.

NBA Announces Game Schedule Adjustments for Lakers Games

The Lakers will now host the Hornets on February 19 as their first game after the All-Star break. To accommodate the schedule, the NBA also moved the Lakers-Jazz game that was initially scheduled for February 11 to a day earlier. This will help reduce the number of back-to-back games the Lakers will have to play.

The league also announced that the postponed Lakers-Spurs game has yet to be re-scheduled. It will reportedly be announced at a later time.

Naturally, more changes to the schedule had to be made since the LA Clippers were also impacted by the same situation. In total, nine changes to the schedule were made.

The Lakers will now have a more compact schedule the rest of the way as they have more games left to play than any other team in the Western Conference.
