2. Khalil Mack, LB

Khalil Mack is in the same boat as Bosa. He, too, was viewed as an obvious trade candidate this offseason due to his contract, but a restructure kept him around for at least the start of this year.

That being said, Mack already has one foot out of the door as a pending free agent in 2025. And given he's turning 34 in February, he doesn't have much time left in the NFL. That could cause him to seek a contender to play out the rest of his days while the Chargers work on a likely years-long overhaul.

Considering he's coming off of a monstrous 17-sack season in 2023 as well, he'll surely have no shortage of Super Bowl hopefuls looking to add him to their defense. That opens up the door for a trade at this year's deadline if he produces at a similar level and LA wants to get some extra draft capital for the future.

3. Easton Stick, QB

Speaking of trades, the Chargers just added an established name to their quarterback room, dealing for proven backup Taylor Heinicke after cutdown day. It's difficult to see that as anything other than a poor reflection of Easton Stick, who was in line to serve as the QB2 before that move went down.

As a holdover from the old regime, Stick has few ties left in the organization. That leaves his play as his main case to stick around, but he failed to produce much in four starts for LA last year, recording o touchdowns in three outings. The one game he did put up nice numbers in (257 yards, three TDs) was the infamous 63-21 blowout at the hands of the Raiders.

Approaching 29 with little to show for since entering the league in 2019, the Chargers can clearly do better at backup QB behind Justin Herbert.
