As we approach the 2024 NBA Draft, all eyes are on Bronny James. Where he will end up is one of the most important storylines of the summer because of the potential ripple effects it could have. Will he end up on the Lakers? Would LeBron James follow him wherever he is drafted? Would a team take a gamble on him to use it as leverage in a potential trade with the Lakers?

We will find out the answers to these questions soon enough. In the meantime, there is a surprising development about Bronny's pre-draft plans.

Previously, James was only interested in working out for the Phoenix Suns and the Los Angeles Lakers. It was considered a done deal that he would end up in one of these teams.

According to Marc Stein of The Stein Line, however, that is about to change. The NBA insider reported that Bronny's agent Rich Paul is considering more workouts from other teams leading up to the draft.

"Bronny James, to this point, has planned to restrict his in-person visits before the draft to two teams: The Suns and the Lakers. However… Bronny’s agent Rich Paul told The Stein Line that there are “a few more” invites under consideration they are still evaluating for potential workouts."

The Lakers have the 55th overall pick in the second round. They could use that on Bronny James but the USC product is keeping his options open. Whether this is a way to get the Lakers to trade up for Bronny or if he has genuine interest elsewhere remains to be seen.
