The Los Angeles Chargers are one of the few teams remaining around the league with a serious need at wide receiver. While LA did spend several draft selections on rookies, including second-rounder Ladd McConkey, Justin Herbert could use a more proven talents around him to produce in 2024.

L.A. made some progress on that front by inking D.J. Chark this past week, but it's now bringing in another free agent to possibly help the WR room.

Ari Meirov of the 33rd Team reports Marquez Valdes-Scantling is visiting with the Chargers on Monday. Meriov adds MVS has been on the team's radar for "weeks," so there's clear interest from Jim Harbaugh's side.

The Bolts are very familiar with Valdes-Scantling, who spent the past two seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. MVS made a few big plays here and there, including during the playoffs, but his brief tenure was still a disappointment. He amassed just 63 receptions and 1,002 yards over two years before being cut this offseason.

It's obvious Valdes-Scantling has some flaws, but he could still help Herbert and this offense. He's a legitimate big-play threat, boasting an average of 17.0 yards per reception throughout his career, including a league-leading 20.9 mark in 2020 for the Green Bay Packers.

Valdes-Scantling also has experience that L.A.'s current receiving corps simply lacks. He's been a consistently good supporting wide receiver since entering the league, hitting at least 580 yards in three of his six campaigns. He's done this while working with both Aaron Rodgers and Patrick Mahomes, which means he knows what a top-flight quarterback requires.

This visit with the former division rival comes on the heels of the team's prior meeting with Boyd, who is rumored to be leaning toward the Tennessee Titans -- the other squad he recently visited with.

Considering L.A. is bringing in Valdes-Scantling so quickly hints the team either knows he's going to Tennessee, or didn't think he'd be a good fit.

Either way, it's obvious the Chargers want to make another quality vet addition at wideout in the coming days,
