Dodgers to Reunite With Veteran After Manuel Margot Trade
The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to make additions to their roster as Opening Day inches closer and closer. The Dodgers are shipping out outfielder Manuel Margot and SS prospect Rayne Doncon to the Minnesota Twins for SS prospect Noah Miller.
Margot was just acquired by the Dodgers in December when they received him and Tyler Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays.
But this move opened the door to the return of Kiké Hernandez coming back to Los Angeles.
Kiké Hernandez Close to Signing with the Dodgers
The Dodgers are also close to bringing back Kike Hernandez, whom they acquired from the Boston Red Sox in 2023. He is nearing a one-year deal with Los Angeles. Hernandez brings a good contact hitter onto the diamond with the versatility to play multiple positions.
Last year, the 32-year-old had a .237 batting average with 11 home runs and 61 RBIs. Hernandez provides this group with a veteran playmaker off the bench who knows how to excel in his role.
As for Miller, he is getting to start fresh in Los Angeles. Miller, 21, was the No. 36 overall pick in the 2021 MLB Draft. The young infielder is still developing in the farm system as he looks to get into a flow. His career slash line in the Single-A is .220/.326/.318.
The Dodgers have one of the most talented rosters in the league after the offseason additions of Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Shohei Ohtani. Those two are joining Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts on the diamond.
