Jalen Ramsey Tweets Strong Reaction to Falcons Hiring Raheem Morris
Things have been heating up for Raheem Morris. According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, the Atlanta Falcons have zeroed in on Morris and are expected to make him the team's next head coach.
Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who played under Morris from 2021-2022 in Los Angeles, gave a glowing review about his former coach on social media. Morris was a big reason for the success of the Rams' defense en route to securing Super Bowl LVI over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Morris will be replacing Arthur Smith after he was let go when the Falcons went 7-10 this past season. The 47-year-old coach isn't new to either Atlanta or the NFC South.
Morris was on the Falcons coaching staff from 2015-2020, taking on multiple different roles. Earlier in his career, the New Jersey native was a part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers staff on two different stints. The first one was from 2002-2005 before returning from 2007-2011.
In two seasons under Morris, Ramsey notched 165 total tackles, 34 pass deflections, and eight interceptions. He knows what Morris can bring to the table and believes he's the right man for the job.
Morris will now be tasked with turning around a Falcons organization that has gone 7-10 in three straight seasons and notched seven wins in five of the last six years.
He is coming from a Rams franchise that has secured a playoff berth in two of the last three seasons. Morris heads to Atlanta and looks to end their six-year playoff drought.
