The Los Angeles Chargers were one of the teams that experienced a lot of turnover this offseason. They handed over the head coaching keys to Jim Harbaugh as they looked to rebuild the culture and organization.

With Brandon Staley calling the shots, the Chargers failed to take that next step. So Harbaugh came into town and gutted the roster.

They shipped out Keenan Allen and released Mike Williams. Los Angeles wants to become a more physical team but that means taking quality pass catchers away from quarterback Justin Herbert.

Los Angeles made some different WR additions this offseason and Herbert is already building a connection with one of them.

Chargers News: Justin Herbert Continues To Build Connection With Ladd McConkey

Training camp is fully underway and certain players look to separate themselves from the pack.

Rookie receiver Ladd McConkey is one of those guys. Eric Smith from the Chargers team website revealed that McConkey is building a great rapport with Herbert, which was apparent in Sunday's practice.

"On a day where the starting groups on both sides of the ball went against each other without pads, it was the Herbert-McConkey connection that stood out."

Harbaugh echoed similar sentiments regarding McConkey. He said, "He's been off to a really good start. Really excellent route runner. We knew that and he's been really good, really dialed in from the beginning."

The Chargers are going to rely on McConkey this season. In three seasons at Georgia, he finished with 119 receptions for 1,687 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Like Harbaugh said, McConkey is a slippery route runner and will have the opportunity to prove himself.

With Allen and Williams both gone, that frees up 176 targets. If he continues to stand out in practice, he will be heavily featured in the aerial attack for Los Angeles.

And Herbert will certainly be looking his way.
