The Los Angeles Lakers just wrapped up their first set of summer league games this week in the California Classic, and will now prepare for the NBA 2K25 Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, before the Lakers play their first game in Las Vegas against the Houston Rockets on Friday, they added a couple of new players to their roster. The Athletic’s Jovan Buha reported that Moses Brown and Trent Forrest will play with Los Angeles.

The 24-year-old Brown spent this past season with the Portland Trail Blazers and their NBA G League affiliate (Rip City Remix). The 7-foot-2 center only played six games with the Remix. He averaged 9.0 points and 6.0 rebounds in 20 minutes per game (two regular season games).

However, Brown balled out in the Showcase Cup games for Rip City, posting 19.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, and 2.8 blocks in 26.5 minutes per game (four games). As for the Trail Blazers, the former UCLA center averaged 3.4 points and 3.9 rebounds in 22 games.

The young center will try to land a two-way contract with another team in the league or maybe join the Lakers’ G League affiliate (South Bay) next season depending on how he plays in Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, Forrest spent the last two seasons with the Atlanta Hawks after beginning his career with the Utah Jazz. This past season with the Hawks, the 26-year-old averaged 2.2 points, 2.4 assists, and 1.3 rebounds in 10.9 minutes per game (38 games).

With the Lakers not having any open two-way spots, Forrest will be in the same position as Brown, trying to play well enough to get recognized by other teams around the league or stay within LA’s organization.
