There hasn't been a team in the headlines more than the Lakers have been since their season ended in late April.

The Lakers need some major changes along the roster to create a championship-caliber team. They just hired J.J. Redick to become the new head coach so the focus shifts to improving this team.

Los Angeles will do everything in their power to re-sign LeBron James but filling out impactful players around him and Anthony Davis will be key.

With the NBA Draft taking place on June 26 and free agency starting June 30th, the reports on free agents are beginning to leak.

The latest news showcased it may be harder for the Lakers to add a former player to the roster.

Lakers News: It Will Be Harder for Lakers to Sign Andre Drummond

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com revealed that the Chicago Bulls would like to re-sign center Andre Drummond.

This is a bit of a surprise after it was thought that Chicago would let Drummond walk in free agency. Now it sounds like plans have changed which makes things a bit more difficult for the Lakers.

Los Angeles will be looking to add more athleticism and size to their frontcourt and Drummond would be a great add. He played for the Lakers back in 2021 so he already has familiarity with the organization.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James are both getting older so it makes a lot of sense to add quality backups for them.

Signing someone like Drummond would give the Lakers an athletic big man who could come off the bench to play with high energy/effort.

In 21 games with the Lakers back in 2021, Drummond averaged 11.9 points, 10.2 rebounds, one block, and shot 53% from the field.

Just last season with the Bulls, he logged 8.4 points and nine rebounds per game in 17 minutes of action.

The Lakers will have some competition to sign Drummond on the open market but he may be worth the investment.
