LeBron James Makes First Remarks After Playing His First Lakers Game With Bronny

As LeBron James prepares for his 22nd season in the NBA, he continues to make history, even in a preseason outing. In the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Phoenix Suns, LeBron and his son Bronny shared the court for four minutes, becoming the first father-son duo to play in an NBA game together.

Undoubtedly a special occasion for both players, LeBron couldn't contain his excitement after the game, both in his press conference and on social media.

"We stood next to each other and I kinda looked at him, and it was just like, ‘Is this The Matrix or something? It just didn’t feel real. But it was great to have those moments out there with him."

Lakers head coach JJ Redick discussed after the game his desire to play the two together within the rhythm of the game. This makes sense as this is what preseason is all about: seeing what combinations work and evaluating different lineups.

Bronny James struggled in his minutes, finishing with zero points on 0-1 shooting from the field, four turnovers, and three personal fouls in 13 minutes of action. LeBron, on the other hand, was the best player on the court, finishing with 19 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks in 16 minutes of action. The Lakers starting lineup outplayed the Suns when they shared the court but LA ended up losing the game 118-114.

This game was obviously more than individual performances and stat lines. Seeing arguably the greatest basketball player of all-time wear the Lakers uniform with his son was a special moment for basketball fans. We can't wait to see more of it in the regular season.
