The Los Angeles Lakers unsurprisingly ended the Darvin Ham era following their loss to the Denver Nuggets in the first round of the playoffs. While the Lakers still haven't found his replacement, the 50-year-old head coach found a job immediately after. Ham is headed back to the Milwaukee Bucks to be a lead assistant coach under Doc Rivers.

It is not too surprising to see Ham get a demotion in his first job following his Lakers stint. His reputation was rather tarnished as he was consistently scapegoated by the fanbase and the organization. He will now have an excellent opportunity to revive his coaching career with the Bucks, where he played and worked in for a long time.

Even though Ham wasn't particularly successful with the Lakers, he has received a ton of support messages from prominent members of the organization. The latest came from Lakers legend Magic Johnson.

One of the greatest Lakers of all time, Magic posted on social media failing to contain his excitement about Ham in his new position.

This post is in typical Magic Johnson fashion. With his usual no non-sense approach to social media use, Johnson congratulated his friend in his new role.

That is the type of attitude Lakers fans should take with Ham. They should wish him the best for the rest of his career even though his time in Los Angeles didn't go according to plan.

One could easily argue that that wasn't Ham's fault. He was given an ill-fitting roster that included Russell Westbrook to start his stint. The team played much better once Westbrook was traded away and the Lakers made the conference finals. Perhaps they could have repeated that success had they not faced the reigning champions the Denver Nuggets in the first round.

Just like Magic Johnson, we wish Darvin Ham the best in his future endeavors. And who knows? Perhaps we will see him back in Lakerland at some point in the future.
