Rams Haven't Moved on From Aaron Donald Just Yet
The Los Angeles Rams returned to the postseason in 2023 after an injury-ruled campaign cost them a postseason run in 2022 following their Super Bowl in 2021.
Last season, Los Angeles went 10-7 and secured the No. 6 seed in the NFC. They lost in the Wild Card Round to the Detroit Lions but the vibes were high rolling into the offseason. It took a massive hit when Aaron Donald retired in March.
Donald was the best defensive player in the league for close to a decade, so his presence will certainly be missed.
Despite Donald officially retiring, the Rams still haven't closed the door on the 10-time Pro Bowler.
Rams News: Cooper Kupp Revealed Aaron Donald's Locker is Still Up
The Rams' first part of OTAs started May 20 and players are back in the building to begin preparing for the 2024 season.
Cooper Kupp spoke with the media and disclosed that Rams haven't taken down Donald's locker just in case he wants to come back.
Kupp added, "I'm so happy for him... but if he ever wanted to come back he's more than welcome."
Kupp and Donald have been teammates since 2017 so he understands first hand the impact that Donald brings onto the field.
In Donald's 10-year career, he notched 543 total tackles, 176 tackles for loss, and 111 sacks.
There's no way to replace a future Hall of Famer. Who knows if Donald would entertain the idea of coming back but if he does, his same locker would be waiting for him.
We've seen crazier things happen in the NFL, so you never know what could happen.
