Rams Will Love Latest 49ers Injury News Ahead of Week 3 Matchup
The Los Angeles Rams are currently 0-2 heading into their Week 3 game against the San Francisco 49ers. They haven't had the best injury luck through two games with countless starters getting nicked up.
They've placed Darious Williams (hamstring), Joe Noteboom (ankle), Steve Avila (knee), Puka Nucua (knee), John Johnson III (shoulder), and Jonah Jackson (shoulder) on injured reserve. Los Angeles' Cooper Kupp is also sidelined with an ankle injury, but the Rams aren't the only ones dealing with injuries.
The 49ers have Christian McCaffrey (calf) on injured reserve, and receiver Deebo Samuel (calf) is likely sidelined for the matchup against the Rams. But another 49er playmaker could be inactive on Sunday.
NFL News: George Kittle Has Hamstring Injury Heading Into Week 3
On Thursday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that tight end George Kittle wasn't at practice after he experienced some tightness in his hamstring. Now his status for the game is up in the air.
With all the injuries that Los Angeles is dealing with, Kittle not playing would be massive. The Iowa product has dominated against the Rams in his career. Across 12 games versus Los Angeles, Kittle has 57 catches for 799 yards and six touchdowns.
San Francisco's offense is loaded, so the Rams need any advantage they can get in this divisional bout. These two teams split the season series 1-1 last season and Los Angeles is looking to get win No. 1 on Sunday.
Regardless if Kittle plays or not, they'll have their hands full.
According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Rams are still 6.5-point underdogs but the lines may shift if Kittle is ruled out.
