The Los Angeles Lakers are one of the most storied franchises in the NBA. They enter the offseason with a real need to improve this roster after being bounced in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

With J.J. Redick now in charge of running the ship, the focus now pivots to vastly improving the roster around LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Although James is expected to opt out of his current deal, it's widely assumed that he'll re-sign with Los Angeles.

With their core duo slated to return, a star player has expressed his desire to join the Lakers.

Lakers News: Trae Young Is Interested in Joining Los Angeles

The Atlanta Hawks are engaging in trade talks surrounding Trae Young and Dejounte Murray. There are a few teams that are attractive to Young and the Lakers are on the list according to Yahoo Sports' Jake Fischer.

"The Lakers, Pelicans and Spurs remain three destinations that would be appealing to Young, league sources told Yahoo Sports. "

This isn't the first time that Young has been linked to the Lakers over the past couple of months but there was a hiccup regarding his interest.

Back in May, Young changed agencies, leaving Klutch Sports to join CAA. Despite leaving the agency led by Rich Paul and LeBron James, Young still has his eyes on the purple and gold.

Young is a smooth floor general who has a crisp jumper from way beyond the arc. In his career, the three-time All-Star averages 25.5 points, 9.5 assists, and shoots 35.5% from downtown.

The Lakers may be more inclined to acquire Young after it was revealed that both James and Davis prefer the team to add a third star.

With the NBA Draft happening tonight and free agency starting on June 30, teams will be taking swings to add talent ahead of the 2024-25 season and Young may be on the list for Los Angeles.
