The 2024 MLB season is finally here. Even though the first game of the season took place on the other side of the Pacific Ocean, all eyes were on the Los Angeles Dodgers and their new superstar Shohei Ohtani.

In the first-ever MLB games in Seoul, South Korea, the Dodgers didn't disappoint, mounting an impressive comeback in the top of the eighth inning for a 5-2 victory against the San Diego Padres.

Ohtani, in his first game as a Dodger, had a solid, productive outing, finishing with two singles and a stolen base. The two-time AL MVP had plenty of support in the stands, most notably his wife Mamiko Tanaka.

Ohtani announced his marriage last month on Instagram, taking everyone by surprise. The two continue to keep a low profile other than the occasional social media post. However, Mamiko was in Seoul for this important moment for Ohtani, passionately supporting the new Dodgers star slugger.

The Dodgers will play another game against the Padres on Thursday before making their way back to the United States to prepare for the rest of the regular season that starts on Mar. 28. Getting another win in front of a sellout crowd in Seoul will set the tone for the rest of the Dodgers' season.

Shohei Ohtani is among the favorites to win the National League MVP this season. At +900, he is only trailing Ronald Acuña Jr. and teammate Mookie Betts.

If you think Ohtani can add another individual honor to his resume this season, head over to FanDuel, claim your sign-up bonus, and take advantage of these odds.
