In his first game back with the Los Angeles Dodgers since June, Yoshinobu Yamamoto dominated the mound and helped the Blue Crew in the first stretch against the Chicago Cubs.

It has been a huge need for the Dodgers to get some help on the mound as the final weeks come down before the postseason arrives and on a hard-hitting Tuesday, they were able to bring back a massive boost in Yamamoto who powered through the first four innings and didn't let up one bit.

Yamamoto missed three months of action due to an injury to his right shoulder in June, leaving the Dodgers searching for the perfect option to carry the workload they had planned for their new star who signed a 12-year deal with Los Angeles this past Winter.

In his first inning, Yamamoto needed 15 pitches to strike out the side in his first game back. He kept the Chicago Cubs off-balance and only had a setback in the second inning where he allowed three hits and an RBI, but it was not enough to knock the star off his groove as he pushed and continued taking out each hitter in a row.

Before ending his outing after the fourth inning, Yamamoto would once again strike out the side in the third inning before getting a double play in the fourth to walk away with a strong end to his first game back since June.

Yamamoto was sent out for his first four innings and threw 59 pitches, he only threw one slider in the game against Chicago, a big difference from when he threw it twelve times against the Yankees in his last outing where it landed him on the injury report following the game.

The injuries that have taken a toll on LA might have some relief with the strong performance from Yamamoto as his next job on the mound will be to keep the same groove and work towards playing more innings when the postseason does arrive.

With three weeks remaining for the Dodgers, the ultimate goal will be to keep everyone healthy and to make sure there are no unnecessary negatives that force the team to look after replacements with all that they have been through in the last three months trying to keep things together and work towards winning their first championship since the pandemic year.

In other good news for the Dodgers rotation, they were able to announce the activation of Brusdar Graterol who last pitched in the beginning of August a month ago when he suffered a strain to the hamstring which many feared would be season-ending. Thankfully, that was not the case and he is going to be back on the mound sooner rather than later.
