The Los Angeles Chargers made serious progress in the first season under Jim Harbaugh. The Chargers improved their win total from six to 11 and made the postseason.

They were able to be effective on the ground while being a stout defense. That is a good foundation to have but the Chargers need more from the passing attack. Ladd McConkey is the No. 1 WR in the offense right, but they need more production from that unit.

Cincinnati Bengals receiver Tee Higgins is going to hit free agency and will be one of the top playmakers on the open market. In an interview with FOX19’s Joe Danneman during Super Bowl Weekend, Higgins acknowledges there's a chance that he could be playing for a new team in 2025.

He said, "But you know, it's not in my hands right now. So I gotta do what I need to do, and if that's go to another team, that's what happens." Higgins added, "Obviously I would love to be here in Cincinnati," Higgins said. "I love it here. I love the city. I love the fans. I love the coaching staff -- everything in the building. But it's not in my control."

Tee Higgins Open to Signing With a New Team in Free Agency

The Chargers were 19th in the NFL in passing offense in 2024 (213.5 passing yards per game) but they need more juice in that room. McConkey was the only receiver who secured 1,000-plus receiving yards this season, and adding a player like Higgins would be massive.

The Clemson product stands at 6-foot-4 and excels in contested catch situations. Higgins owns secure hands and would step into the WR1 role immediately for Los Angeles.

In his NFL career, Higgins has notched 330 receptions (512 targets) for 4,595 receiving yards, and 34 touchdowns. He's scored at least five touchdowns in all five seasons and has gone over 1,000 yards twice.

According to Overthecap.com, Los Angeles has $63 million in cap space, so they have the money to hand out a lucrative deal to Higgins if they please. And when free agency rolls around, the Chargers would be wise to make Higgins one of their first calls.
