The Rams got a major injury update following a dramatic 12-6 victory over the 49ers on Thursday Night Football and it sounds like they'll soon get a key playmaker back in the fold for a playoff push.

Starting tight end Tyler Higbee, who hasn't played yet in the 2024 season, could soon be coming back. Head coach Sean McVay spoke to the media on Friday, noting that the organization intends to activate Higbee next week.

That'll give him a 21-day practice window before needing to return to a game. With Los Angeles surging, that's a major boost for the postseason.

Rams Plan to Activate TE Tyler Higbee Next Week

In 2023, Higbee had 47 catches for 495 yards and two TDs in 15 games. He's emerged as one of Matthew Stafford's most reliable options, serving as another safety blanket in addition to Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua.

Without him and at points, those other two as well, the Rams' offense has look stagnant. Suddenly, it looks like Los Angeles could seriously compete for another Super Bowl. They've beaten the Bills and 49ers in the last two weeks with games against the Jets, Cardinals, and Seahawks remaining.

If you believe this team doesn't have a chance to win the NFC West and make a run, you haven't been watching them. They're catching fire at the perfect time and could now get even more reinforcements.

Rookie Jared Verse has helped the defensive line rank among the best in the NFL, and Stafford is entering his swan song as one of the best signal callers around. Depending on the health of the rest of the team, specifically the offensive line, the Rams are as good of a bet as any to push the Lions and Eagles in the NFC.

Once Higbee gets back, they just might have an offense that can rival Detroit's.
