Rams Announce Huge Injury News Ahead of Week 10 MNF Game
By Cem Yolbulan
The Los Angeles Rams were able to turn their season around after a disastrous start, winning three straight games to go up to 4-4 for the season. With their next two games coming against the Dolphins and the Patriots, they have an excellent opportunity to overtake the Cardinals as the top seed in the NFC West.
With that objective in mind, they received positive injury news ahead of their Monday Night Football showdown in Week 10. The Rams announced that they designated two key starters for return. Offensive linemen Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson will be returning to practice after being placed on the IR earlier in the year.
Rams News: LA Designates Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson for Return
Steve Avila and Jonah Jackson suffered injuries in Week 1 and Week 2, respectively. Avila suffered a knee injury against the Lions and was placed on the IR. Jackson, who was signed to a three-year, $51 million contract with the Rams, fractured his scapula in his second game with the team.
Without two high-level starters, the Rams offensive line has struggled. Beaux Limmer has been starting at center while Logan Bruss and Justin Dedich have been playing significant snaps. All three players have underwhelmed so far, making the returns of Avila and Jackson that much more important.
Earlier in the week, head coach Sean McVay was optimistic about Jackson being ready to return on Monday, while Avila's chances seemed lower. Jackson and Avila will take over as center and left guard, but it's unclear how they will share those duties, as both players saw snaps in both positions in the preseason.
