Rams Dealing With Big Injury Concerns at 1st Divisional Round Practice
By Cem Yolbulan
The Los Angeles Rams are preparing for their divisional-round clash against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. After their riveting win against the Vikings in Arizona on Monday, the Rams are back in Woodland Hills before they head off to Philadelphia later in the week.
The Rams will have a slight rest disadvantage against the Eagles. Not only did they play in Arizona before a shorter week of rest, but they will also travel across the country to face the Eagles. Therefore, the team didn't practice on Wednesday. However, the estimated injury report still had a few concerning designations on a few key contributors.
Per Rams beat writer Adam Grosbard, the team listed Tyler Higbee as a limited participant while having Alaric Jackson, Ahkello Witherspoon, and Bobby Brown as DNP.
Rams News: Veterans Pop Up on Injury Report Ahead of Sunday Showdown vs. Eagles
Higbee suffered a chest injury against the Vikings and was taken to a hospital. Head coach Sean McVay said that he expects the veteran tight end to play and his being limited is a good sign on that front.
The status of the rest of the injuries is less certain. Brown is dealing with a shoulder injury and was only able to play 13 snaps on Monday. Jackson is dealing with a chest injury, and his inclusion on the injury report is definitely concerning. Witherspoon left the game against Minnesota early with a thigh injury and whether he will be ready to go on Sunday remains to be seen.
The Rams have decent depth and have dealt with injuries all season long. Head coach Sean McVay will undoubtedly find a way to get the most out of his group but the injury report containing multiple key veterans is obviously not a great sign.
