The Los Angeles Rams have shifted gears over to the offseason. After winning the NFC West and making it to the Divisional Round, the Rams are looking to make improvements to their roster.

Following the end of the season, quarterback Matthew Stafford was non-committal on his future with the Rams. He took some time to think and decided he would return to the NFL for his 17th season. Stafford will want his deal reworked, as he's slated to have a $23 million base salary.

While they got an answer from Stafford, tight ends coach and pass game coordinator Nick Caley let the New York Jets know he wasn't interested in their offensive coordinator position according to Connor Hughes of SNY.

Rams News: Nick Caley Turns Away the New York Jets

Since Aaron Glenn was named the head coach of the New York Jets, Caley's name was floated as his top target to become their offensive coordinator.

The 42-year-old decided to pass on that offer but has interest elsewhere around the league. The Houston Texans and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers interviewed Caley for their vacant offensive coordinator positions.

This isn't the first time that Caley has drawn interest elsewhere. Last offseason, Caley turned down the New England Patriots offensive coordinator position. He elected to return to Los Angeles and continue to learn under McVay.

While that was a smart decision for him, it looks like that won't be the case this year.

Caley spurning the Jets isn't shocking. The Bucs and the Texans each provide better offensive situations based on the quarterback position. New York hasn't decided on whether they will bring Aaron Rodgers back or head in a different direction. Meanwhile, the Texans have C.J. Stroud, and the Bucs have Baker Mayfield.

That's a ton of uncertainty for a coach looking to land his first offensive coordinator gig. Rams offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur also held that same role with the Jets from 2021-2022 but was fired after his offense struggled with Zach Wilson at the helm. Many believe LaFleur was used as a scapegoat after he clashed with Wilson and multiple other young players on the roster.

Caley probably asked LaFleur about his experience in New York and could have been stirred in a different direction.

Whether Caley stays in Los Angeles remains to be seen, but he has other options out there.
