The Los Angeles Rams are officially heating up at the perfect time. After a rocky, injury-plagued start to the year, Sean McVay's squad has rallied to secure wins in each of their last three games, the most recent of which was over the hated San Francisco 49ers.

Not only did that victory push the Rams' record to 8-6, putting them firmly in the chase for the playoffs and even division title, but it all but eliminated now-6-8 San Francisco from postseason contention as well.

Health has played a factor in the Niners' nose dive after appearing in the Super Bowl earlier this year, but Kyle Shanahan's squad still boasts plenty of talent; so Los Angeles completing a season sweep of its division foe is very notable.

In fact, one L.A. star thinks his team's performance against San Fran this season has caused a shift in the relationship between these franchises.

After another impressive performance, running back Kyren Williams claimed in postgame comments the Rams are "big brothers now" to the 49ers following L.A. going 2-0 this season against its rivals.

The quote surely has Niners fan riled up, and some outsiders have taken issue with it due to San Francisco's recent excellence. After all, it may be difficult to generate any big takeways between these teams' standing in an outlier of a year for Shanahan and company.

That being said, things can change at the blink of an eye in the NFL, and there's some concerning signs coming from the Bay Area that may foreshadow the 49ers falling back on tough times -- so Williams may be right after all.

This is also only the third season the Rams have played since winning the Super Bowl. While that does seem like a decade ago, L.A. was, in fact, San Francisco's big brother very recently.

It's clear Los Angeles has the perfect pairing in GM Les Snead and head coach Sean McVay to keep give this team a chance at contending for as long as they're together. That's bad news for the Niners' leadership, which is struggling in the face of adversity.
