The Los Angeles Rams have had an eventful offseason and we haven’t even reached the start of free agency. The offseason began when Cooper Kupp revealed the Rams were trying to trade him and continued when Matthew Stafford went skiing with Tom Brady and decided he wanted to return to Los Angeles.

Coming off a division title and a playoff run cut short against the eventual Super Bowl champions, the Rams have had a busy winter. But it also hasn’t prevented them from keeping their own players, including two key veterans who will return to the team next season.

Tyler Higbee, Rob Havenstein Will Return to Rams in 2025

Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters that Tyler Higbee and Rob Havenstein will return to the Rams for the 2025 season. According to The Athletic’s Jourdan Rodrigue, both players were in the final year of their contracts, but their advanced age – both players are 32 – made their status in doubt as the Rams headed into the offseason.

Higbee has spent all nine years of his career in Los Angeles and has been a serviceable piece in McVay’s offense. While he had 72 catches for 620 yards and three touchdowns in 2022, his stats dipped to 47 catches for 495 yards and two touchdowns before he suffered a multiligament knee injury in a playoff game with the Detroit Lions in 2023.

While he was able to return for the final three games of the regular season, Higbee had modest production with eight catches for 66 yards and two touchdowns. The Rams would probably like to search for an upgrade in this year’s draft, but they also have Colby Parkinson and Allen Davis under contract heading into next year.

Havenstein was in a similar situation, spending all 10 years of his career with the Rams, but battled injuries that limited him to 11 games last season. Havenstein produced when healthy, however, posting a 75.8 overall grade and allowing 23 pressures on 442 pass-blocking snaps (5.2% pressure rate) last season, according to Pro Football Focus.

It locks up a pair of starting positions for the Rams as they enter the offseason and try to take another step toward competing in the NFC next year.
