Los Angeles Rams fans are excited about Monday's blowout win over the Minnesota Vikings, but that excitement doesn't come without some reservations. In addition to the looming wildfires in Los Angeles making it harder to focus fully on football, an on-field issue hangs heavy now as well.

Tight end Tyler Higbee made an early exit from Monday's game despite not suffering any obviously apparent injury, and he was quickly hospitalized

Fortunately, McVay knew that fans would be anxious for an update on Higbee's health, and he provided a quick update after the game. It was an encouraging one in terms of Higbee's overall wellbeing, but a concerning one from a football standpoint for a team heading into a difficult Divisional Round matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Tyler Higbee Injury Update: Sean McVay Provides No Clear Timeline

Sean McVay announced that Tyler Higbee is in stable condition and that he's "going to be okay." First and foremost, that is great news and a huge relief. But his further comments, an "I don't know" on Higbee's status moving forward in the playoffs? That one's pretty worrying.

Higbee posted a strong 5 receptions for 58 yards on just 12 snaps played in the Wild Card Round. He'd been ramping up his workload since making his season debut in Week 16, and he was clearly poised to play a big role in the offense. Despite his early departure, he was still second on the team in targets, trailing only Puka Nacua on Monday.

Now the Rams travel to Philadelphia as 5.5-point underdogs (per FanDuel Sportsbook) against an Eagles team that has one of the best secondaries in the NFL. This is a team that can make things very hard on Matthew Stafford, and going into that matchup without one of his most effective weapons will certainly make things harder than they would be with Higbee active.

Of course, "I don't know" also doesn't mean that he's definitively out. Maybe it was simply too early to update Higbee's status for Sunday. Maybe the focus was solely (and understandably) on making sure he was in stable condition and that there were no larger issues that needed addressing.

This will be a situation to monitor closely as Sunday's game approaches.
