Struggling Chargers Star Unexpectedly Lands on the IR
The Los Angeles Chargers are fresh off their bye week. After starting the season off 2-0, they ended up dropping two games in a row.
They've had to deal with multiple injuries early in the year. While the Chargers got some positive news regarding Justin Herbert on Friday, the trend didn't roll into Saturday. Los Angeles ended up placing two different players on IR, including a young defender in the secondary.

Chargers News: Gus Edwards and Asante Samuel Jr. Land on IR
According to Tom Pelissero, the Chargers are placing both RB Gus Edwards and CB Asante Samuel Jr. on injured reserve.
Samuel Jr. has started in all four games in 2024 but hasn't been that effective thus far. The Florida State product has logged 13 total tackles with two pass deflections. Per PFF, Samuel Jr. has a 59.4 overall grade and a 58.6 coverage grade.
In coverage, he's allowed 12 catches (18 targets) for 128 yards and 10.7 yards per completion.
The 25-year-old is dealing with a shoulder injury and is sidelined for a minimum of the next four weeks. Los Angeles has only played in four games in 2024 but they have been slammed with a flurry of injuries lately.
Joey Bosa (hip), Rashawn Slater (pec), and Kristian Fulton (knee) are all questionable for this contest. The Chargers are squaring off against the Denver Broncos in an AFC West collision so having these question marks isn't ideal.
The Chargers will need everyone to step up and stop a Broncos team that has won three games in a row.
