Tampa Bay had to find a way to become king of the Eastern Conference, and somehow pulled it off by beating three of the historic ‘Original Six’ teams — the Detroit Red Wings, Montreal Canadiens, and New York Rangers (in that order).
And now they’ll have the chance to take out the fourth team on that list — Chicago.
All three of the opponents that the Lightning have been able to knock out play completely different styles of hockey.
The Red Wings tried to beat Tampa by being inconsistent and always differentiating their flow but that didn’t work.

Montreal tried to use their speed and incredibly efficient offense to get by but that didn’t work either.
When it came down to the New York Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist and company tried to play slow hockey and beat the Lightning up with their physicality but that didn’t work.
So what we’ve learned from Tampa Bay so far is that nothing phases them, they’ll still do their own thing regardless of what their opponent throws their way.
It’ll be something Chicago better have taken notes on if they expect the Lightning to be remotely caught off guard by anything in the Final.
