1. Sign a Big Name Free Agent

Out of all these Lakers rumors this one is the most hit and miss. The free agent class next season is expected to be stacked with some stars. If the Lakers do manage to deal either Mozgov or Deng, it will put them in a position to afford that superstar they are longing for. Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Gordon Hayward, Steph Curry, and Dwayne Wade could all be free agents next year. The two guys on this list that stand out for the Lakers are Blake Griffin and Kevin Durant.

More from Lakers Rumors

I think who they pursue all has to do on their moves prior. If they follow exactly what I say, dealing either Randle or Ingram, they should attempt a superstar for their respective positions. Lets say they deal Ingram attempt to sign Durant with Hayward as their back up. If they deal Randle attempt to sign Griffin with Paul Millsap as a back up option. Heck, if the Lakers manage to weed out their big contracts and don’t get Ball they could even try to bring in Chris Paul or Steph Curry to make that same dynamic.

Chances are most of these players will resign with their teams as almost all of them are invoking player options. The one to really look for however is Kevin Durant, as I cannot see him returning to Golden State. Now that Curry is an unrestricted free agent, the Warriors are going to have to decide between the two. They cannot afford to pay them both superstar money, so unless one takes a considerable pay cut this won’t happen.

Hey, maybe if they get Durant he could reunite with Westbrook in the near future. Wouldn’t that be something?
