Clippers rumors: How the Clippers could acquire Markelle Fultz
More Clippers rumors could arise come the time of the NBA Draft.
Some of these Clippers rumors that could surface are should they trade to acquire a future point guard?
They currently do not have a first round draft pick .Chris Paul has a few more years left. There is a great draft class of all positions coming in this draft. Especially point guards.
Their future point guard will learn under and be mentored by Chris Paul. This would be a great transition for the team and organization. However they would have to give a pick or player up if they want to acquire a star player such as Markelle Fultz.
A list of players they could realistically give up would be Wesley Johnson, Jamal Crawford, and a future draft pick to acquire Markelle Fultz. Additionally, after Fultz is drafted they could put a package deal together to trade fro Fultz. This sounds the most realistic.
Let us all just think about this the three tams with the top picks all have their point guards for the most part and we all know the Lakers want Lonzo Ball. If Markelle Fultz doesn’t go number one overall which is likely he could end up in LA in a crazy Clippers trade. These Clippers rumors haven’t surfaced, yet are possible when the time arises.
Markelle Fultz would fit in perfectly. He is a great in game dunker, can find the open player with spectacular passes, and is a great defender. The Clippers pride themselves on defense. However when needed he can score. He is a playmaker and scorer as well.
Los Angeles needs to build for their future. Why not do their best to acquire Markelle Fultz as their foundation for their future and build around him?

Since the Clippers do have depth, but not much at the point guard, he’d easily play in games. He would gain experience by being in the starting rotation. Additionally, if Paul injures himself he could come off the bench and agin experience that way by playing against all starters.
Unless the the Clippers say otherwise then he’d play in the D-League before coming back to the Clippers roster. Nonetheless he is going to agin experience wherever he plays.
Lob City would be wise to acquire him as their foundation for the future team of the Clippers. Yes he only played one season, hence letting Chris Paul be his mentor is what he needs. It just makes sense as a smart decision.
Additionally, this means we cold possibly see Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball both in LA in the future. This could be the new LA same court rivalry.
