Before, we discussed the possibility of the Timberwolves trading for the Lakers pick to land Lonzo Ball. Here, we see that poetry in motion. Now, would the Timberwolves give up Andrew Wiggins for the pick and somebody at the center to play behind Karl Anthony-Towns? I’m not sure the asking price is that high, but still, we see Zubac and practically Lonzo Ball dealt for Wiggins.

Yes, Luol Deng and Gorgui Dieng are also included in this deal, but they are not significant. The Lakers are not losing much out of trading away Deng, but they do need to make Dieng their starting center. His numbers are not bad, averaging 10.0 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, but does not have the ceiling as Zubac.

Still, though, this deal would be one-hundred percent worth it solely because of the acquisition of Andrew Wiggins. They could play Wiggins at shooting guard if they wanted to start Ingram and still, would have the Rockets pick and their second round to bring in draft talent.

Averaging 23.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.3 assists per game Wiggins would instantly turn into the superstar the Lakers need him to be. In Minnesota, he is the number two scoring option behind Towns – put him in purple and gold and we may see that points per game average jump up to 27.

Sure, Lakers fans want to see Lonzo Ball wearing the purple and gold next season, but if they can secure someone of Wiggins caliber it would be worth trading away. Wiggins fits the young mold, and it already the superstar the Lakers want D’Angelo Russell to be. Watching Russell and Wiggins grow and become stars would be a beautiful sight.

Overall, these Lakers rumors regarding Ivica Zubac seem pretty promising. While I did say in the beginning that I do not think he should be dealt, if Andrew Wiggins is involved it should be a no-brainer.
