Clippers Rumors: Possible New Homes for Head Coach Doc Rivers
By Jason Reed
Orlando Magic
Perhaps we could see Doc Rivers return home to the first place he was a head coach in the Orlando Magic. Despite bringing Frank Vogel, the team again struggled to the finish line despite having one of the best young cores in the league. Now, the team needs an experienced coach to develop these young guys and Doc Rivers fits the bill perfectly.

Rivers first called the Orlando Magic home from 1999 to 2003, making the postseason three of those four years. While he did not find success outside of the first round, Rivers helped develop Dwight Howard into one of the best centers in the league.
With young stars ready to break out in Aaron Gordon, Nikola Vucevic, and Mario Hezonja they need an experienced head coach to help lead them to success. With yet another high draft pick in this year’s draft, the Magic will be able to bring in another star to the mix. If they can bring Doc Rivers along with it, we may see Orlando hosting a playoff game very soon.
While the Magic may be looking to give Frank Vogel an extended chance in turning this young core around, they may lose their patience and take the bait in Doc Rivers. If the Clippers are shopping him as extensively as they could, there is no reason to doubt that the Magic would not at least inquire about their old coach.
