Lakers Rumors: Possible trade packages for the second overall pick
By Jason Reed
If the defending champion Cleveland Cavaliers fail to make it a repeat in 2017 it may be back to the drawing board for Lebron James and company. Lebron has been no stranger in wanting to move around the guys around him, and this was evident with the multiple trade rumors circling Kevin Love. In the end, Love was not dealt, however, following the 2017 playoffs he may be.

Kevin Love and Lebron James have never really clicked. Despite being two fantastic players, the stretch four and point forward have had their tense moments. Don’t get me wrong, they have had moments where they both absolutely dominated, but far less than Cavs fans would want. Love has not transitioned well from a superstar to a third option, that is evident.
Perhaps Lebron and company are licking their chops over the prospects of bringing in a playmaker like Ball. Kyrie Irvin could move to shooting guard, where he may be better suited.
This allowes Ball to add in another playmaking dynamic alongside Lebron. Heck, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Cavs flip the pick for another superstar, one that better suits Lebron’s needs.
Love would then be heading back to Los Angeles, where he played his college ball at UCLA. Perhaps signing a max contract after this deal, Love could be the superstar the Lakers want him to be – patiently waiting for former teammate Russell Westbrook to rejoin him in Los Angeles.
Whether or not the Cavs would do something like this solely relies on how they perform in the playoffs. If Lebron can bring the second consecutive title to Cleveland, then Love may be safe for now.
Overall, these Lakers rumors may be more enticing than selecting Lonzo Ball out of UCLA. Although that is the most likely outcome, as for now, all we can do is wait and see.
