Devin Robinson – Small Forward

Devin Robinson is another guy that is not highly touted going into this year’s NBA Draft. While Robinson likely will get drafted very late in the second round, there seems to be no conceivable way he could land in the first. However, he does harness some great aspects of his game that can make him very successful at the NBA level.

More from Lakers Rumors

Robinson was great defensively for the Florida Gators in his three years playing. CBS Sports sums Robinson’s game up perfectly when saying “He’s a small forward who rebounds like a power forward and can guard a number of positions.”

Effectively, the Lakers could be getting a very similar player to Draymond Green in Devin Robinson. While he did not rebound nearly as much, he has the potential to reel in over five a game at the NBA level, only improving from there on out.

Plus, he is a great defender on the ball. Like previously mentioned, the Lakers lack any true lock down defenders in their young core, Robinson could be the defensive guy for the Lakers.

Robinson significantly improved his three-point shooting in his junior year, increasing to a .391 three-point percentage. That is very similar to Green’s .388 in his senior year. Overall, Robinson is a great two-way player that could eventually turn into a gritty leader, much like Green.

The primary focus of the Lakers draft rumors is going to continue to be what the Lakers do with the second overall selection. However, there are some pretty good sleeper picks available for Los Angeles with the 28th overall selection.
