Lakers rumors: LA in love with versatile big man D.J. Wilson
Current Lakers rumors include a new player LA is intrigued with.
These Lakers rumors are center around a versatile forward from the University of Michigan.
D.J. Wilson is who the Lakers are in love with. Power forward is the position he plays, but he can also play the small forward position as well. He can play both forward spots because of his length, athleticism, and skill.
Wilson looks more like a small forward then he does a power forward, however he does have raw talent. He is a player who can play anywhere and succeed I believe.
Also, he can guard any position. If there is one negative critique I had to come up with it would be his strength.
Wilson reminds of me a a little bit of Brandon Ingram, they both need to continue to hit the gym. By hitting the weights at the gym, in the end they will be stronger in all aspects of their game and a little more bulkier but still quick.

LA already has multiple big men, therefore he could play as the reserve to Ingram. This would give the Lakers what they need. Along with other picks in the draft they would be able to build a bench around their current starting five.
Wilson this season averaged 11 points and 5 rebounds. There is no doubt he is capable of posting a double-double. Coming off the bench he would make for a good sixth man for LA. Additionally, if they need someone to handle the ball they could look to Wilson.
Wilson has good ball control skills as seen in the NCAA March Madness Tournament. Walton could allow him to control the ball off the bench like he did with Ingram in his first year.
Also, just imagine Wilson at the three spot and Randle at the four during game rotations. Glass crashing machines! When players can crash the glass it gives their team more chances to score again and keep possession of the ball.
Wilson even can score the ball in any fashion. For example, he can attack the rim off the dribble or stop and pull up. Walton would play him in the game rotation.
Lastly, D.J. Wilson is an outstanding defender and creates plays of off the hustle plays. He isn’t afraid to get not he floor and get dirty.
He could be something special if Los Angeles selects him this summer.
