With NBA Free Agency well under way, Dion Waiters seems interested in Los Angeles.

If the front office is going to make a splash in this summer’s NBA Free Agency, Dion Waiters might be their best bet. The solid shooter has played with the Thunder and Heat, providing a unique talent to both teams.

Money talks, though, especially in the NBA. So now it is Waiters turn to see if he can cash in on his value over the summer. Los Angeles has a link to him already thanks to current team GM Rob Pelinka being a former agent for Waiters.

The Lakers have also been reportedly interested in guys like Rajon Rondo, Ben McLemore, and Andre Iguodala. Out of those three, it’s Rondo that has the best chance to land with the purple and gold.

After fielding other offers, Iguodala decided to return to the bay. Also, since leaving Sacramento for the free market, McLemore has reportedly agree to a deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Signing Waiters would give Lonzo Ball a reliable guard to run the offense with. Waiters can drop buckets in the clutch too, giving the Thunder all he has when he was with them in the playoffs and then helping the Heat nearly — and miraculously — make the cut.

Los Angeles missed out on a Paul George deal this summer. While him coming to the team a year early would’ve been a welcomed sight, it didn’t happen.

In Miami last season, Waiters managed to average 15.8 points, 4.3 assists, and 3.3 rebounds per game. Given that the Lakers might need more help, it’s a solid option to consider.

Not to mention that signing a guy like Waiters allows the team to be much more flexible with Jordan Clarkson. Changing his role from starter, to sixth man, as well as in between the one and two guard spots.
