Lakers Rumors: Possible trades to help prepare for Paul George
By Jason Reed
Admittedly, this trade is more fantasy booking than anything, but wouldn’t it be amazing to see Anthony Davis lining up in a Lakers uniform? If the Davis, Cousins experiment again fails to work the Pelicans could just go back to the drawing board, dealing both men. Cousins is the more sensible trade bait as he has one year left under contract, but Davis is a possibility too.
Just imagine the return the Pelicans would get for both Davis and Cousins, they would instantly rebuild the franchise from the ground up – building on young talent and draft picks. Just from the Lakers the Pelicans are getting a future star in Brandon Ingram, a double-double machine in Julius Randle, and two draft picks (Although they would swap with LA in 2020).

As for the Lakers, this is the perfect superstar to bring in alongside Paul George. Davis is a menacing threat down low, and would be a great target alongside George for Ball to assist to.
Plus, the talent the Lakers are giving away would just be filled anyways. Brandon Ingram would be filled by Paul George, and Julius Randle would be filled by Davis. Sure, they are giving up future picks, but it is worth it for this super team.
The Lakers would instantly be title contenders, meaning their picks would be higher picks anyway. Considering the franchise would actually be taking in less money on this deal, it would be a huge win.
Overall, Paul George remains the most polarizing figure within the Lakers rumors. However, the idea of Anthony Davis heading to Los Angeles is something special.
