Lakers Rumors: Big name shooting guard options after this season
By Jason Reed
Klay Thompson
This one may be the least likely, but keep in mind that Paul George was reportedly recruiting Klay Thompson to come play in Los Angeles with him. Granted, this is all speculation, but the idea of a Thompson-George partnership in Los Angeles is incredible. Obviously, George would not be running the two in this case, instead running at small forward.

If the Lakers were going to go get Klay Thompson towards the end of his contract there is no possible way they could reach an agreement without Brandon Ingram. Ingram easily has the most trade value, and if the Lakers want to go all in, they would have to trade him along with future picks.
Although it may be a big asking price, it very well could be worth it. Thompson is putting up great numbers on a Golden State team where he is the third option. Just imagine if he was the first or second scoring option, he would light up the scoreboards on a nightly basis.
Los Angeles would then have Thompson and George for Ball to distribute to. This would serve as one of the best trios in the NBA and could even compete for a championship.
The Golden State Warriors would need a reason to trade Thompson, however. It is widely speculated that out of the Warriors core that Thompson would be the first to go.
At this point in time, Thompson would be in the last year of his contract alongside Kevin Durant. The Warriors aren’t going to be able to pay Thompson superstar money, prompting them to at least get something out of his last year on contract.
