Lakers Rumors: Predicting the ratings for each Laker in NBA 2K18
By Jason Reed
Lonzo Ball – Prediction: 79
It may be bold to give Ball a rating higher than Brandon Ingram, but quite frankly, it makes the most sense. Last season 2K gave the most hyped draft choice Ben Simmons a 79 rating. Although Simmons was the number one selection, with Ball being the second, the hype around both men is very similar.
Like Kuzma, Ball’s Summer League play will likely garner him more respect when it comes to deciding his ranking, but it shouldn’t be the deciding factor. However, Ball’s playmaking ability will certainly garner him one of the highest rookie ratings in 2K18.
Julius Randle – Prediction: 80 (+2)

Randle continued to be the consistent double-double machine that has highlighted his career thus far. Last season Randle scored a career-high, 13.2 points per game, along with bringing in 8.6 rebounds. Although he rebounding did dip from 10.2 to 8.6, that should not be a big concern for the Lakers as he still had 26 games in which he hauled in 10 or more boards.
The interesting dynamic surrounding Randle is certainly if he will remain a Laker this season. With perhaps the most trade value outside of Ball and Ingram, Los Angeles may be looking to package Randle to get rid of Deng and his contract.
Brook Lopez – Prediction: 85 (+2)
Brook Lopez is one of the most underrated centers in all of the league. The newest Laker has consistently flirted with 20 points per game every season of his career, averaging 20.5 points per game last season.
His rebounding definitely can be better as he only averaged 5.4 boards last season, but it is obvious his strongest asset is scoring. Because of the consistent level of play, and perhaps since he is now in Los Angeles, 2K may bump his rating to make him a formidable 85.
Next: Trades to prepare for Paul George
Overall, as the Lakers rumors continue to swirl we may see new additions to this roster, further changing the outlook of the ratings. However, overall, the Lakers seem to be trending upwards.
