Lakers Rumors: Three different super teams the Lakers can construct
By Jason Reed
Now, this is assuming that none of these guys walk away after this season with a Championship under their belt. All three guys play on fantastic teams, but with the Warriors still owning the West, it is hard to see any of them making to the Finals let alone winning it. After falling short on their already great teams, the trio of Jimmy Butler, Paul George and DeMarcus Cousins could all come together and win one in LA.
All three of these guys have been involved in Lakers rumors before. George, as we all know by now, seems to be very interested in playing for his home town Lakers. Cousins, on the other hand, was rumored to have an interest in Los Angeles before getting traded to New Orleans.

The wild card here is Butler. Butler has been tied to the Lakers, but his interest is nothing but speculation. Minnesota likely will not deal Butler, so Los Angeles will have to wait two more seasons before getting his services.
However, that is perfectly fine. Cousins will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason with George owning a player option. Los Angeles just needs to get rid of either Deng or Clarkson, they do not need to get rid of both to bring in these two guys; it would help, but is not entirely necessary.
Now, I’m not sure if this team without Butler would win a ring, but for one season the Lakers would do fantastic running George at shooting guard and allowing Brandon Ingram to further blossom at small forward.

Overall, having a successful season without Butler would be the perfect bargaining chip to bring him into the Staples Center. All of these guys are chasing their first ring and overthrow the Warriors together.
