Lakers Rumors: Three players to trade Jordan Clarkson for this season
By Jason Reed
1. Jimmy Butler
In all honesty, this deal is pretty unlikely but it would be absolutely epic for the Los Angeles Lakers. The Minnesota Timberwolves are going all in on their title pursuits, a title pursuit that everybody wants to see bear in mind. However, if the Timberwolves fall flat on their face this season in that title pursuit they make look to build with established young talent.
The Timberwolves biggest discrepancy heading into next season is undoubtedly the power forward position. No offense to Gorgui Dieng, but he is obviously the weakest link in this strong Timberwolves team. If Minnesota were to give up on the superstar appeal of Jimmy Butler, a power forward would be the first thing the team requested.

Lucky for the Lakers, they have a great young power forward in Julius Randle. Randle has proven to be a double-double machine and seemingly will only get better with time. Add in Clarkson, who could give the Timberwolves viable minutes at guard, and Minnesota would not be getting a bad return.
Again, this all would happen if, and only if, the Timberwolves fail to win much like the Chicago Bulls did last season. If that is the case, Butler may be the first to go, with Los Angeles being a great destination for his talents.
The Lakers then get the star they need to lure in other stars such as Paul George or LeBron James. Butler has been tied to the Lakers before, so never say never.
