Right now, it makes a lot of sense for the Lakers to at least consider Dwayne Wade.

It’s been another roller coaster summer thanks to free agency, trades, and the annual draft. Chaos has been the theme for the last few seasons in Los Angeles, as the Lakers have failed to put anything incredible together.

This upcoming season will be looking to change that, with them also being one summer away from potentially landing multiple superstars. One of the stars on that list is none other than LeBron James, who will be a free agent and could be on his way out of Cleveland for a second time.

One of the players closest to James is Dwayne Wade. The veteran shooting guard has spent time in Miami and Chicago during his NBA career, but that may change sooner than later. It’s expected that the Chicago Bulls and Wade will reach a buyout agreement shortly, making him available to anyone that wants him.

Should the Lakers make a move and end up acquiring him, you’d have to think that they’d do so in hopes that it builds a better case for them to also snag James. While it might be one of the easier power moves they could pull off as a front office, there’s plenty of reasons for Wade to fancy the move as well.

It keeps him and his family in a bigger market and better city, while also dangling a possible reunion with James in purple and gold. As part of the big three in Miami, James and Wade won multiple titles.

Los Angeles would just have to figure out what they want to do with their depth chart, as they’ve got shooting guards aplenty. Josh Hart, who was just drafted, is slotted behind Kentavious Caldwell-Pope and Jordan Clarkson.

This could mean that either Hart or Clarkson gets dealt to make room for D-Wade. It’s a move that could also make sense if Wade happens to agree to a team friendly deal with James being the biggest incentive on both sides.

Clarkson has been in the conversation of trade when it comes to making a move, so don’t be shocked if that’s how they pull this one off.
