Our take:

Wow, what a team this would be. Although it would take some movement from the Los Angeles Lakers, this team would be special. If Magic Johnson could something piece this puzzle together then the fans would be treated to one of the most explosive offenses in the entire league. Los Angeles has not been relevant – this would definitely change that.

More from Lakers Rumors

It would be interesting to see how the play styles would actually pan out in real life, though. Westbrook is a ball dominant guard, and it would be difficult for him to adjust to a shooting guard role. Especially with Ball and James handling the ball up the court as well, Westbrook’s strengths would seemingly be nullified.

Plus, with the fallout of Kyrie Irving, it is evident that ball dominant guards do not like playing with LeBron. Sure, Westbrook has played with Kevin Durant, but this season with Paul George will be his ultimate test. If they coexist, maybe a James-Westbrook tandem is possible.

However, I do not think it will ever come to fruition. Of course, salary always plays a part. Unless both men take a pay cut, this cannot happen.

Also, the Lakers just drafted their point guard of the future in Ball. Sure, they could move Westbrook to the shooting guard like we did, but that may not translate to real world results. This may prompt the Lakers to deal Ball, something I personally would highly advise against.

Next: The Lakers are setting up for disaster

As fun as it is to speculate these kinds of things, this seems to be more Lakers rumors that will result in nothing. If anything, LeBron should be looking for a natural star shooting guard to bring in, not another point guard.
