Lakers’ NBA 2K18 ratings leaked, how did our predictions fare?

In mid-July we posted an article here on LA Sports Hub that predicted the rating that each Laker would receive on NBA 2K18. 2K18 is slated to release on September 19, with pre-order access beginning on September 15. With the game now just two weeks away, most of the ratings have been leaked to the general public. Our sister site, Lake Show Life, put together a list of the ratings.

So, how exactly did we fare?

More from Lakers Rumors

Not that great. We were close with some players, but we managed to actually miss the mark on every single rating (embarrassing, I know). There was three players that we guessed one rating lower than their actual rating, Larry Nance Jr, Lonzo Ball and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. Then there was four we rated one higher than they were: Brook Lopez, Brandon Ingram, Jordan Clarkson and Ivica Zubac.

Our worst guess was Luol Deng. After a disappointing season, we anticipated Deng to drop four ratings to a 69 overall. Instead, he maintained his 73 overall rating. To check out the full ratings, click here.

Once again, the Lakers look to be one of the lowest-rated teams heading into NBA 2K18. Brandon Ingram and Julius Randle arguably should have had a higher rating,  while Brook Lopez continues to get overlooked as he plays on a bad team.

One promising rating heading into this year’s installment is Lonzo Ball. Ball is already the second-highest rated Laker and alongside Markelle Fultz received the highest rating for a rookie, ever.
