C Thon Maker

Another option for the future, the Clippers could capitalize on the Milwaukee Bucks, if they are contending for a title, and cash in on their young center Thon Maker. Maker may still be green and not ready to compete at a serious level yet, but he has the potential to be one of the most dominant centers in the game in a few years time.

Maker’s seven-foot-one frame and seven-foot wingspan will translate into him becoming one of the best shot blocking and rebounding centers in the game. Following in the footsteps of Rudy Gobert and Hassan Whiteside, Maker’s name could be involved in all-star talks and All-Defensive talks in before the end of the decade.

The cost for Maker? DeAndre Jordan. For many Clipper fans, trading Jordan seems too foolish as he is now the second best star on that team. However, Jordan only has one season following this season left under contract. With the team stuck in between anyways, the Clippers may be best suited to trade one year of Jordan for someone who has a ceiling higher than Jordan’s.

The Bucks then would be going all in over the next two seasons in bringing home a title. With Giannis Antetokounmpo developing into an MVP caliber player and Jabari Parker with an equally high ceiling, these Bucks may be one piece away from being a dynasty.

Again, this is all a pipe dream. But with Greg Monroe set to his free agency after this season, Jordan also provides at least a one season rental afterward.

Next: Blake Griffin will have an MVP caliber year

Overall, with these Clippers rumors, it is apparent that the team is going to go one way or another this season. Which way that direction goes is yet to be seen.
